Jessica is the youngest child of Sam and Grace Bennett. For years, Jessica was the nice younger sister, often trying to thwart her older sister Kay's schemes to win Miguel away from their cousin Charity. Eventually, after long keeping quiet about her feelings for Reese, Jessica finally started a romance with her crush.
After catching Reese in bed with Charity, and watching her mother choose David Hastings over her father, Jessica came to share Kay's resentment towards both Charity and Grace. After they left, Jessica got involved with sleazy club owner Spike, who led her into a world of drugs and prostitution.
Jessica later married Spike, who tried to blame her for a series of murders, and even tried to bury her alive. Eventually, Jessica left Spike after finding out she was pregnant.
